The French Bakery holds birthday tea parties for the special girls in your life (and who are at least 5-years-old).  The children are served darling teapot-shaped sandwiches, scones, carrots and cupcakes.  Instead of “grown up” tea with caffeine, the children can choose herbal tea, lemonade, hot cocoa or hot apple cider.  Party packages range from $22 to $25 per person.  5 guest minimum, 24 max for all French Bakery parties.  71 Lafayette Cir., Lafayette. For all those little cupcake lovers out there, Teacake Bake Shop offers birthday parties with either a cupcake or cookie package, both priced at $30 per guest.  There is a 10-guest maximum and the minimum age for the little baker is 6.  Parties last 90-minutes and are scheduled any day Thursday through Monday, 3:00 p.m. or later.  Party guests will decorate their delicious creations by cutting out fondant, going to town with icing, and shaking a variety of sprinkles.  A la carte options are available for an additional cost.  35 Lafayette Cir., Lafayette.  (925) 283-9900. teacakebakeshop.com

The Lafayette Community Center offers birthday parties galore!  “Jump and Prance with Kinderdance” is a 1-hour class, recommended for 3-year-olds to 5-year-olds, incorporating ballet, aerobics, and creative movement.  Cost is $200 for up to 12 children.  Indoor Sport parties (soccer, basketball, floor hockey or dodge ball) are available for kids between the ages of 4 and 6.  18-guest maximum, cost is $195 for 90 minutes and $260 for 2 hours.  “Rink” birthday parties (skating, roller hockey, floor hockey, soccer, flag football or broom ball) are also available, with a 24-guest maximum, at a cost of $250 for 90 minutes.  Kindergym parties are available for children up to age 5; 15 guests maximum singing songs and playing on the equipment for 90-minutes at a cost of $195.  How about a cooking birthday party?  For children ages 5 to 13, ten children are invited to learn new techniques and create a birthday feast ($350).  If you have a musical little one, Andrea’s Musical Adventure birthday parties are designed for those between the ages of 1 and 7.  Music dancing and costumes are provided for twelve children.  The price is $175 for 90-minutes.  Parents provide refreshments and paper supplies for all Lafayette Community Center parties.  Parents must sign waivers before their children may participate in these active parties.  500 St. Mary’s Rd., Lafayette.  (925) 284-2232  lafayetterec.org

Catering to a culinary crowd?  Mountain Mike’s Pizza offers a unique “make your own pizza” party.  Each child will decorate a personal-size pizza, which is baked on the spot so guests enjoy their own creation at the party.  $5/guest, which includes the pizza and drinks.  Crayons and coloring sheets are also provided for additional entertainment. Parties are designed for children ages 5 and up, and there is no limit on the number of children that can attend. Calling all mermaids and dolphins, sharks and stingrays: Sherman Swim School offers a birthday party package!  Guests enjoy 2 hours of uninterrupted swim and party time. Parents are welcome to bring food in to enjoy, and two picnic tables are available for use. Two lifeguards are on duty as the guests swim and splash in 3 outdoor pools. Want to incorporate some real party animals into the mix?  Sienna Ranch offers a variety of party packages. Guests at the horse-themed party groom horses, take part in an art activity and enjoy mini riding lessons. Cake and presents cap off the fun.  ($355 for 3 hours and 8 children + $25 for each additional child; recommended for age 7 and up).  Archery parties include basic instruction and technique before 30 minutes of individual shooting time, followed by games and competitions. ($195 for 2 hours and 8 children + $18 for each additional child).  Is your child wild for farm animals? A farm interaction party includes some quality time with the Sienna Ranch chickens, geese, ducks, bunnies, goats and pony. Children will also enjoy an art activity as they spin wool into a bracelet. The party begins with team-building challenges and obstacles, followed by each party guest receiving a compass to help them navigate a pre-planned course complete with checkpoints.
